Thank you for visiting Rolling Thunder®, Illinois Chapter One, from Warrenville, Illinois (west suburban Chicago).
The major function of Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is to publicize the POW-MIA issue: To educate the public that many American Prisoners of War were left behind after all previous wars and to help correct the past and to protect future Veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners of War-Missing In Action. We are also committed to helping American Veterans from all wars.
My name is Bill Sharpness, President of our chapter.
Rolling Thunder® Chapter 1 IL is a group of Americans doing what's right. We are not a veterans organization. If you're reading this, thank you and everyone else in this country and other countries for caring about the 91,662 plus American service members that have not come home since the First World War (POW/MIA's). We will not forget them EVER. We are now trying to help local veterans in need on a personal level... NO RED TAPE! Also, we help veteran homes and we are interested in helping the Middle East conflict veterans such as the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and all other veterans wherever they have served.
Please come join us. Our meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of every month at the Warrenville, IL VFW Post 8081 at 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome whether you have a motorcycle, automobile, or just travel on foot.
We still go to the Rolling Thunder® demonstration in Washington, DC, via Rainelle, WV for the Ride For Freedom every Memorial Day. Come join us.
Like I have said before, no one gets paid here. It is a true American charity. 95 cents out of each fundraising dollar goes to the cause. View our charitable pedigree on the Contact Us page.
On behalf of Rolling Thunder® IL 1, thank you again. Any POW/MIA or unaccounted for families, please contact us. We would like to do something in honor of our loved ones.
Bill “Hawk” Sharpness
President, Chapter 1, IL
